"La Seconda volta"

by Lisa Nesselson

May 19, 1996

An honorable but ultimatley unsatifying film based on an excellent premise. An Italian professor realizes that the former political terrorist who shot him 12 years earlier is more or less free on a work-release program. He engineers a meeting with her, only to discover that the violent act that forever altered both their lives, can't be made meaningful beyond the fact that it happened and they'll both have to live with the consequences. Spare, leisurely execution from a first-time director.
