"Michael" is one of those movies I'm glad I didn't see with the critics because I cried - not once, not twice, but three times. I mean, the theology of the movie is shaky at best, Travolta is not really at the top of his game, and director Nora Ephron isn't either, but I really liked it and didn't regret paying to see it. It is a romantic comedy that uses the increasingly prevalent belief in angels. John Travolta is the archangel Michael - who smokes, drinks and flirts - while Andie MacDowell, William Hurt, and Robert Pastorelli are investigative reporters trying to get him to Chicago. Rated PG.
