Director Wong Kar-Wai seems to think that the mere presence of two homosexual Asian men transplanted to Argentina is inherently interesting. The terse, succinct assessment is: He's wrong.

The two gents engage in some industrious anal intercourse, tool around in a car, bicker and generally spend a seemingly endless quanitity of screen time confirming they can't live apart and they can't live together.

The director's formal chops are, as ever, impressive. But the experience of an exquisite place setting is greatly enhanced when the host remembers to put food on the plates.
