"The Crossing Guard"

I've always thought that if anyone hurt my kids, I'd hunt them down and rip their
hearts out. That's just the sort of person I am. Well, so is Jack Nicholson as
Freddy in "The Crossing Guard". The difference is that I wouldn't be directed by
Sean Penn in a lame script that included whatever vaguely related scenes
popped into Sean's head. Like the strippers that Jack hangs out with or Robin
Wright's love scene or Robin Wright's dance scene. But there is a relationship
scene between Jack Nicholson and his ex Anjelica Houston that is worth the price
of admission. Some actors view life as great training for their craft and you have
to wonder how much of Jack and Anjelica's discusson of their film marriage is
based in reality. Rated R.
