The Ice Storm
Reviews by: Cari Beauchamp | Kathleen Carroll
It's 1973, and Ben and Elena Hood are feeling the destabilizing winds of change from the sixties blowing through their wealthy suburb of New Canaan. Ben is caught between the comforts of home and the allure of neighbor Janey Carver. His teenage daughter Wendy Hood is testing her sexual powers over Janey's sons, while his son Paul pursues a disinterested high school sweetheart. The night the ice storm sweeps into town, the members of the Hood family will transcend their tragi-comic pursuits, as they come to understand the delicate web of emotion and honor that binds them together, and which may eventually tear them apart.
