Tough to get up this morning - and that's part of the fun at festivals that haven't reached yet the size of a Cannes. You walking back to your hotel after a party (God, who was it for last night?), you bump into someone you know, you hit a bar for a drink and a chat, you bump into a couple of chums, you all trek back to the Thermal, but head for the discotheque downstairs where all those who DON'T go to bed before 3 am have gathered. The head of acquisitions for local TV meets the film student who doesn't want to be a director but a producer, the critic meets the film maker, everything is off-the-record, suddenly it's 5 am and you are Becherovka-ed out. The rest of the day is spent packing (trying to), dressing up for closing night ceremony (and the screening of Joel Coen's "Big Lebowski", comparing notes on the films one has seen, or missed; exchanging addresses, phone numbers and e-mails; swearing eternal friendship - at least for the next week; making one last bet on the outcome of the soccer finals (Sunday night); sharing one last shot of Becherovka. Then the closing night party, more tearful separations, more "I'll see you next year, won't I? - Of course!". Then off to the airport. Where did the night go?
